Marshall University's Engineering Complex opens

On Thursday, August 14, 2015, Marshall University and the entire Huntington community welcomed the opening of the $56 million Arthur Weisberg Family Applied Engineering Complex, which sits between the Arthur Weisberg Family Engineering Laboratories and the Robert C. Byrd Biotechnology Center on 3rd Avenue.

The new Complex will be home to six academic components and programs: the College of Information Technology and Engineering and its divisions of engineering, computer science, applied science and technology; Mechanical, Electrical Engineering and Bioengineering Research Laboratories; departments of Mathematics and Computational Science; Computer Modeling and Digital Imaging/Simulation Resource Facility; Transportation Research Corporation; and the Marshall University Research Corp.

Such a striking expansion of educational opportunities in the Applied Sciences will not only provide more options to local students, but drive economic development and further prominence for Marshall University and the State of West Virginia.  Our community is fortunate for the generosity of the Weisberg Family and the vision of the University leaders in making this dream a reality.
