The ongoing pandemic has shown us that we are all in this together and can never lose sight of the quiet and daily bravery of those that serve on the "Front Lines" to keep us all safe and to keep West Virginia moving forward. I am thankful to have their support and will continue to support them in Charleston. See who is standing with us:
OUR FIRST RESPONDERS SUPPORT LOVEJOY FOR HOUSE
Our campaign is grateful for the support of our First Responders - both from our Firefighters and Law Enforcement Officers, including Huntington's Local 289 of the International Association of Firefighters, the West Virginia Troopers Association, West Virginia Sheriffs Association, West Virginia Deputy Sheriffs Association, Fraternal Order of Police Gold Star Lodge No. 65 and Cabell County Lodge No. 122. These brave men and women risk their lives every day to keep us safe, and it's an honor to have them standing with me. I've successfully fought to protect their pensions, increase wages and improve job safety. I've advanced the ball on securing increased access to help for those that struggle with PTSD from doing their job in keeping us safe.
OUR HEALTH CARE WORKERS SUPPORT LOVEJOY FOR HOUSE
Our campaign has the support of those working in Health Care - both from those providing care such as the West Virginia Nurses Association, SEIU Local 1199 and the West Virginia Medical Association and from the facilities in which they serve our people, such as the West Virginia Hospital Association and West Virginia Health Care Association. I know that our patients and the health care workers that are serving their needs deserve fair wages, benefits and, especially now, great focus on a safe workplace and proper PPE.
OUR EDUCATORS AND SERVICE PERSONNEL SUPPORT LOVEJOY FOR HOUSE
Those working on the front lines in our education system support our campaign - from the American Federation of Teachers, West Virginia School Service Personnel Association, West Virginia Education Association and Future of 55. I know that our children deserve a quality education and that we need to provide a safe place for them and for our educators and personnel in which to deliver it.
OUR RETAIL WORKERS AND BUSINESSES SUPPORT LOVEJOY FOR HOUSE
Our campaign also has the support of those keeping the grocery stores and other essential businesses open and safe - including both the United Food and Commercial Workers and OMEGA, which represents many of West Virginia's grocers. I know that these workers and businesses are truly essential to keeping us fed and well and they deserve the appreciation and focus on safety to keep things moving.
